THE RAINBOW BRIDGE

Well today is not the LOS for me , it is the Land Of Tears , a neighbor , upset with my puppy for eating out of her cats food dish took it upon her self to poison my puppy Blackie, even tho I have had to clean my flower bed of cat poop a many of times and would not even think of killing her cat , or any animal for that matter, why did she have to be so cruel. If I live to be a hundred I will never understand people that are mean and hateful to animals, I can and will forgive , BUT I CAN NEVER FORGET.
I found this poem on the web site of Wanda's Poems and Stories http://wandascountryhome.com/index.html for a friend of mine who had lost her dog to a careless automobile driver , never knowing that I would be reading it to comfort myself a short time later. It's a good read and a comfort to all who have lost pets, for some reason or another , Hope you enjoy.
IN MEMORY OF BLACKIE -------------------THE RAINBOW BRIDGE

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His or Her bright eyes are intent. His or Her eager body quivers. Suddenly he or she begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his or her legs carrying them faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross The Rainbow Bridge together....

Oh no... on one hand such passive aggressive behaviour isn't totally out of the norm in Asia, I think, but still... to poison an animal rather than tackling the problem in a more humane manner?!?? :(

My sympathies to you on your loss.

I am so sorry for your lose.

My wonderful tac was taken from me when on vacation. He was my best friend and I felt I if I had lost a member of my family, as he was a member of my family. He gave me more love than I could ever give him.

I can only hope that your grief is short and you can forgive the poor soul for their actions.

As hard as that might seem now.

Jon

So sorry to hear about the loss of your puppy Malcolm...Hopefully Buddha gives her all the karma she deserves ten fold...and hopefully that includes a broom up her arse.

Malcolm how sad. In a way I am not surprised, Thais let all manner of animal run loose in the street but defend their own turf as in this case.
Sorry for your loss.

So sad, so unneccessary and unfortunately, so typical. Not much consolation but your neighbour will reap her just reward for breaking the 1st Buddhist Precept. In a Nation where human life is valued so cheaply what chance do animals have.

Far out! That is just so wrong on so many accounts. Had she been over to talk to you? Have you seen her since he died? Sorry to hear this sad news mate.

Thanks, for all the kind words , they are a comfort in time of sadness. we are doing better now , hard to get use to not seeing Blackie on the back porch begging for her treat every day , BUT Sabu has taken over her share and now gets two treats , he's loving it . Malcolm and Ciejay

Malcolm I know how close we get to our canine friends, my dog Sally died nearly two years ago but every day when I leave my house for work I give her an imaginary pat on the head just before I shut the front door, just like old times.

I hope you aren't suffering too much and I'm sure Blackie is doing fine and most probably following you around the garden. Best wishes to the both of you.
