Valentines Day 2009

I have been celebrating Valentines day since I was in the first grade in elementry school , way back when.I can remember cutting out heart shaped red construction paper and writing I LOVE YOU on lots of them and ,we would give them out to all our friends , the most popular kids got the most cards. And there was always that bigger and special card for that cute girl that sit in the front row near the teachers desk. And as always the special card would say "I love you," and then on the back was "do you love me???" You know , no mater how old we are we are still asking this same question of all our friends and folks we know and meet on this journey thru life ,"I love you", " do you love me?" , and our joy and happiness in life seem to rise and fall on these simple questions, and the answer.
TAKE FOR INSTANCE: St. Valentine , who started this whole thing many ,many, years ago., he was rejected by his mistress and was so heart broken ,that he took a knife to his chest and sent to her, his still beating heart, as a token of his undying love for her. Hence heart shaped cards (the card companys say this is the second biggest seller , Christmas being the number one ) are now sent, as a tribute to his passion and suffering.
I think he went a bit to far myself, but who can fully understand LOVE, and to all of you blooger buddies and friends and family and folks from (maybe ) around the world, that will read this post YES !!!!!! I DO LOVE YOU , sometimes I may not like you , and sometimes I may not understand your point of view and question the things you do , but I will always love you , I want cut out my heart to show you how much , but I would ,(if the need should ever arise) lay down my life to show how important you are to me and how much I care .
Greater love hath no man than this , that he lay down his life for a friend. JESUS said that.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY TO YOU and YOURS. Malcolm

True love is something you just can't put into words. When two people are so much in love every day is a valentine day.

Theres nothing wrong with some good old fashioned love.

I too remember my school days, but I never got a card from my classroom sweetheart. Despite my efforts to impress.

Wonder what she looks like now!!

Love is a fickle thing. Here in the middle east where I'm working, it's arranged. But it seems to work out a whole lot better than back home in the fickle west.

I think love is an understanding. Between two people that are at the right times in their lives to finally feel they are ready to be understood. Plus a little bit of elbow grease, and a whole lot of work. And love at first sight might work out.

Otherwise it's all hormones and testosterone. And a gamble at best.

True Martin, how great it is to find your true love , to live and enjoy life with ,I can tell you are in love when I read your post.

well, for sure the one you have now looks great , and remember the old saying "a bird in the hand is worth more than two in the bush"

B.B. In the 50's Pat Boone sang a song "Love letters in the sand" here today and gone tommorow , but some last , and last, and "yes" love at first sight is sometimes, lasting too as was the case with Ciejay and me

Jesus Christ.....Sorry about my badly worded entrance.....You've just reminded me that for the fifth year running I've forgotten to send Wilai a Valentine card.
Due to my blunt knife I've been unable to cut out my heart, do you think a monetary offer will suffice. This is going to cost me a few baht getting her bottom lip back in.
Your offer of "laying down your life"...would that include popping up to Udon and explaining to the protruding lipped one that due to 12 hour shifts and a snow on the lungs infection, I forgot. Cheers Malcolm....and don't forget to duck.
